The department was started in the year 1999 and it offers three year full time Department of Mechanical Engineering course. The goal of the department is to make the students to acquire knowledge in the field of design, thermal, advanced manufacturing techniques like CAD/CAM & metrology and prepare the young engineers to face the formidable global challenges that are taking place in their field. The department has signed MoU with few leading industries to develop industry- institute interaction which lays the foundation to develop the technical know- how for the students.

Laboratory

We have well-equipped lab facilities to cater the needs of students like Mechanics of Materials and Fluid Mechanics lab equipped with universal testing machine, torsion testing machine, spring testing machine, impact testing machine, hardness testing machine and pneumatic kit. Thermal lab with refrigeration test rig. Automobile lab with a Leyland chassis in running condition and a Tata Estate light motor vehicle. Metrology lab variable and attribute instruments to cope up with advanced measuring techniques. CAD/CAM Lab with 30 computers loaded with latest version of Auto CAD software. Workshop fulfills the requirement of welding , smithy, foundry and lathe shop .It also contains all the special machineries as per syllabus.

We have a CNC turning center to enrich the practical knowledge of our students in the area of advanced machining with CAM simulation package. The students for project works utilize the laboratory facilities.

To enrich the technical knowledge of our students Industrial visits are being arranged three times in a semester. In-plant trainings are mandatory for our students during the semester vacations. Engineering association meetings are organized where in resource persons from neighboring industries and institutions are being invited for lectures and seminars to uplift our students to cope up with the present industrial scenario. Our students also present papers in the technical symposiums organized by other institutions.
