Location
The PSN College of Engineering and Technology is
located at Melathediyoor, 12km away from Palayamkottai
and 125km from Trivandram. Unfolding its grandeur over
150 acres of land, the college exhibits an attractive
panorama conducive to studies. Considering a holistic
approach to life and education, an ambient
infrastructure is provided for the students. They enjoy
a natural sanctuary of birds, magnificent scenery of
evergreen trees and amazing mountains and a gorgeous
garden of multicolored flowers.
ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
I YEAR
A pass in HSC examination with Mathematics, Physics and
Chemistry as the subjects of study or any other
equivalent examination with requisite minimum marks in
these subjects for various communities as prescribed by
the Government of Tamil Nadu.
LATER ENTRY SCHEME (II YEAR)
A pass in the Diploma examination (Pre-final and Final
semesters) with requisite minimum marks for various
communities as prescribed by the Government of Tamil
Nadu. Age Limit: As prescribed by the Government of
Tamil Nadu.
FEES
Fees will be charged as prescribed by the Government of
Tamil Nadu. There is a separate fee structure for Marine
Engineering Students.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The PSN Educational and Charitable rust provides
scholarships for meritorious and economically weak
students.
MANAGEMENT QUOTA
Admission against management quota, lapsed seats and NRI
quota will be made by the management through proper
notification.

PROFILE
Genesis
PSN College of Engineering and Technology was
established in 2001 at Melathediyoor to promote highest
standards to technical education in the state. The
institution aims at educating & training its students to
become not only competent professionals but also
excellent human beings to influence the quality of life
of people around. All the program offered by the
institute are recognized by and affiliated to statutory
bodies like the All India Council of Technical Education
(AICTE), New Delhi and Anna University, Chennai.
The institution is awarded with ISO 9001: 2000
certification for its belief in quality education and
systematic approach.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Induction
Admission to all Bachelor’s degree programs is a pass in
HSC Examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
as the subjects of study or any other equivalent
examination with requisite minimum marks in these for
various communities as prescribed by Government of Tamil
Nadu. Students with Diploma qualification are also
inducted into the degree program in the second year of
study.
Admission to all Master’s degree programs is through the
Anna University conducted TANCET or CAT or MAT. For MCA,
MBA programs, science and commerce graduates with
business mathematics are eligible.
Course Work
The course work consists of four year (eight semesters)
of study consisting of theory, laboratory, field visits,
summer training, seminars and project works.
Basic Sciences
Physical & Chemical Sciences, Applied Mathematics.
Basic Engineering Sciences
Mechanical sciences, Computing and Programming
Techniques, Basic Electronics & Electrical Engineering,
Workshop practices & Engineering Drawing.
Research Projects & Industry Linkage
During the entire study program eight semester of the
students should spend a minimum of sixty working days of
industry over two consecutive summers. They are also
required to submit a minor and major project during
their final year of study.
Course progress monitoring is done through internally
assessed mid semester and laboratory examinations
conducted by the affiliating Anna University.
