With a view to meeting the growing educational needs of the people and the demands for quality modern higher education in the district of Tirunelveli, PSN Educational and Charitable Trust was formed in the year 2000 by the renowned visionary of this territory Shri.Dr.P.Suyambu.

Location

The PSN Engineering College is located at Melathediyoor, 12km away from Palayamkottai and 125km from Trivandram. Unfolding its grandeur over 100 acres of land, the college exhibits an attractive panorama conducive to studies. Considering a holistic approach to life and education, an ambient infrastructure is provided for the students. They enjoy a natural sanctuary of birds, magnificent scenery of evergreen trees and amazing mountains and a gorgeous garden of multicolored flowers.

 Admission Eligility Requirements

I Year

A pass in HSC examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the subjects of study or any other equivalent examination with requisite minimum marks in these subjects for various communities as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Later Entry Scheme (II Year)

A pass in the Diploma examination (Pre-final and Final semesters) with requisite minimum marks for various communities as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Age Limit: As prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Fees

Fees will be charged as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. There is a separate fee structure for Marine Engineering Students.

Scholarships

The PSN Educational and Charitable rust provides scholarships for meritorious and economically weak students.


Management Quota

Admission against management quota, lapsed seats and NRI quota will be made by the management through proper notification.

The allotment of candidates against Government Quota is made by the following:

(B) II year (6 Semesters) (Lateral Entry) - Directorate of Technical Education (DTE)

The institute also offers a two-year (four semesters) post graduate program in

The Support

The growth of an institute depends on its investment in its people. The institute understands the value of information and knowledge for its students and faculty in their pursuit of excellence. Accordingly it provides adequate library facilities which has a holding of about 20,000 books consisting of both text and reference books along with provision for newspapers, periodicals and journals of both national & international repute. In addition to above the library provides photocopying, spiral binding, and lamination services to help students in their learning process. The reading facility to the students in the library is also available. In order to keep pace with increasing number of holding and other services, the modernization of the library is in progress.

The college has two local area network (LAN), one of them is in the main computer center & the other is connected to different departments and the library. The library sub network configuration has 20 workstations, one bar code PC and a server. All the departments and the central store are connected from this server. The LAN, installed in the main computer center, consists of 60 nodes and 2 servers.

The campus boasts of an ultra modern auditorium. These host cultural events, meetings and seminars, giving student’s exposure in both academic and cultural fronts.


The Foundation

The college campus extends over 100 acres of beautifully landscaped area, situated on the outskirts of Palayamkottai. Amidst the green natural surroundings stand the magnificent cluster of buildings of the institute. The fluid layout of the institute buildings showcases an organic evolution of space which projects the synthesis of modernity and tranquility.

The campus provides excellent classrooms, fully equipped labs, well organized workshops, library, modern conference hall, auditorium, facilities for sports and games, refreshment center all that is required for growing minds and budding professionals.


The Workfloor

Workshops and Laboratories

The campus has fully equipped modern workshops designed to train even the most adventurous students. The workshops and laboratories of the institute are well organized and are complete in all respect. Sophisticated and advanced machineries and equipment provided in the labs and workshops help students master the skills and understand complex theories.

Basic Science  Laboratories

The institute has the basic science laboratories to take care of the fundamentals of science and lay a strong foundation before the students take off with their stint with advanced studies in their respective fields.

There are separate drawing halls provided accordingly.

Classrooms

The very basic requirements of an educational institution is its classrooms. The institute provides adequate number of well designed classrooms to import theoretical knowledge. Ergonomically designed furniture makes long hours of classroom studies interesting for the students. Modern equipment come handy for teachers while explaining difficult theories.
